Do you guys find that the ranges you use are recycling the brass they pick up or selling it to a reloading operation or trashing it? I tend to ask my neighbors at the range if I can have their brass if they don't look like they're reloaders but don't ever just go pick-up crazy. It's just as easy for me to pick up some odd cases I don't use and trade them for stuff I do use as to avoid stepping on them in the first place while picking up my own brass.
I use starline and lapua for all my important loads and NEVER find that at the range. Anything I load on other brands is just blastin' ammo typically.

Well redneck, a while ago I called my outdoor range I frequent (after my last score) and asked the owner how much he would charge me if I wanted to pick up a 5 gal buckets worth of brass, he quickly responded "all my brass is spoken for". They sell reloads there, so yup, he probably sells it to whoever does his reloads and maybe to some buddies of his who reload.Show your friends your 1911's and your enemies your glocks!

I went to Angeles shooting range last weekend and the guy next to me let me pick up his 223 brass about 150-200 pieces, did it low pro because you know how anal the guys at Angeles are about picking up other ppl's brass. The only brass that I can't fully pick up is my pistol brass , it goes all over the place.Comment

I have even got into arguments over brass....I was sweeping all my brass into little piles between strings, this guy walks up and gets down on one knee rumaging through my new found treasure. I said, "hey"!
