Same here.....I bought some new 38 super brass and it was tough to load when it was new. Once I ran it through the tumbler it was A LOT easier.

The Starline brass I've bought had a waxy feel and eventually the stuff built up on my fingers and made them slick and I was dropping brass all over. I now tumble new brass for a few minutes to clean off any factory polish residue that may be there.

I always tumble new brass after I had a bunch of 10mm leave a bunch of tiny brass chips in my crimp die. Never had that problem since I started tumbling new brass.

I usually tumble to get the residue off.

I do in order to remove any manufacturing residue that may not been removed before packaging. 30 mins. tops.

My experience, with Starline as well, except it was sticky. On my Dillon, the case bell would stick & on the upstroke the sticking would cause a "jump" & pop powder all over the place! How annoying!!

Yep, I changed the radius on my 45 powder funnel just for that reason. Have not had a case stick in thousands of rounds.

I do with new Remington rifle brass. They come with a rusty yellow look to them on the neck from the annealing process.

Yep, I treat it just like range brass or 1x semi-processed. I include a resize pass and careful inspection too

I do not do full length resizing unless round does not fit chamber. I'm on 8th firing on lot #1 and have only neck sized after firing.

This is for a bolt gun. Lapua Palma brass. 175 SMK with 45 g. of varget.
