    russian 308 ammo

Has anyone shot Russian 308 ammo out of an accurate bolt gun? What kind of groups did it shoot?

They are no match ammo, but if you want to practice cheap up to 300+ yards you'll be fine. But I would not have high hopes. But more trigger time equals a better shooter when you get good ammo. You really have to reload to get the best ammo..

It's cheap because of powder quality and steel casing. However the projectile is very well made. If you have the precision rifle - use only match quality. If you have inexpensive rifle - go ahead and give it a try. Bolt or Semi Auto doesn't matter.

I shot a bunch of brown bear and a few boxes of tula. It was all over the place at 100 yds (savage axis). It is super fun for plinking at 150-200 yds, dont expect much consistency at that distance though

and they dont damage your chamber either, I did have 1 get stuck in my chamber after about 100 rds, All that was needed was some CLP in the chamber, a quick brush and wipe, and it hasn't acted up since

I shot Silver Bear today with my friend's $4k H-S Precision custom bolt action and we were at sub moa at 200.

It did feel strange putting that cheap stuff in such a nice rifle, though.

To those that have shot the Tula's, Brown Bears etc. out of a M1A.

I just got my M1A put in 10 day jail and now am wanting to order some ammo so it is ready to go the day she is home but I was curious how bad are the grouping at 150< yards? This is what I will be starting at as I am using Irons only until I have EARNED the right to use a scope.

I just need to make holes in paper or even better hit the bowling pins at 150 yards. I did try doing this in my 20" AR and couldn't hit a damn thing with the cheap russian stuff. Switched to my quality ammo and was hitting it repeatedly. So i get that it makes a difference in my AR, just wondering about my newest addition.

                    Thanks,
