    House Fire with Ammo

Recently got me scare thinking the possibility of having a house fire and ammo in the house. Can you imagine thousands of rounds in a house fire?

What is your concern? The fire destroying the ammo or your house?

It takes a Chamber for a bullet to act as a projectile also...

Just kiss your *** goodbye, and remember that all that ammo was new issue commercial @ a buck a round.

Awesome video. That should alleviate a lot of fears.

if this was made around 2008 I now know why there was an ammo shortage

They tested this on Mythbusters where they will heat the ammo until they ignite, it did some damage to the surrounding area but nothing enough that is lethal. Made a whole bunch of popping noise though!

I am afraid fire will ignite the ammo.

The fuel in the gas tank of your car is probably more dangerous, if you keep it in the garage.

If you read fire dept. storage recommendations for smokeless powder, they recommend you keep it in a sturdy WOODEN container so that it can burn in a controlled manner.

I would be more worried about the propane tanks and Ace/O2 tanks as well as the black powder I have stored than any loaded ammo or smokeless powder if my place went up.
Not the smartest thing but when I was a kid we would toss 22RF cartridges into the campfire for fun. No one ever got hurt.

Not a waste of ammo, it was done to prove a point of the fallacy of ammo exploding in a fire or ruff handling and shooting a 1000 yards and hitting a poor child.. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a little for the greater good..
