    low recoil buck recipe wanted

My assistant at work wants to get a shotgun for home defense when her husband gets deployed to Afghanistan later this year. She is concerned about recoil for the most part. They are most likely getting one of the usual suspects in the pump gun realm. He wants to use it for hunting at some point as well so its going to be a 12ga

What I am looking for is info on a possible low recoil buckshot load for her that i can load so she can practice periodically. I dont hunt or load buckshot normally so i thought i would check in here.

    I have remington hulls
    Lots of DR XL1 wads
    red dot
    unique
    00 buck

what i am looking for is a load that will send 6-9 pellets down the tube at around 11-1150fps A 6-pellet 00 buck recipe would be really great. These are going to be rabge rounds so no need to waste extra lead.

i do realize buckshot loads are measured by the number of pellets but for reference each pellet is about 1/8oz

i would be fantastic if i could utilize the components i have on hand. I know red dot is too fast for the regular buckshot loads but maybe it can be used in the weak type of load i am looking to do

not concerned with patterns too much as these practice shots for her will be made at 10 yards or less. also wont be concerned about not cycling an autoloader as this will be a pump gun load.

yes, I know recoil wont matter in a SHTF situation and I know I can have her practice with a low recoil target load but lets not make this about whether or not recoil matters. Yes, I could also have her practice with a low recoil target load but thats not what I want.

    thanks all!

I'm sure this load book will have what you need:
For many years shooters have demonstrated a wide variety of applications for buckshot loads. Fired at quick targets and through thick cover, buckshot loads are often the ideal projectile(s) in regards to energy and complete on-target coverage. Buckshot Loading III is a complete overview of buckshot loading technique, application, stacking guide and recipes for all gauges. 48 pages.
