    180 gr Bear Creek
2.6 gr (good plinking load...enough to cycle, feels like a 22)
3.0 gr (power factor of 129)
4.0 gr (power factor of 167)

I've been shooting USPSA for the last 3 years and have tried numerous combinations of loads.
I've settled on bear creek 180gr FP bullets over 5.3gr of Winchester WSF @1.135". It runs reliably in every gun and makes major power factor out of the 3 guns I've shot it out if(sig x5, glock35w/LW barrel, SVI 5")
I would be very cautious of the faster powders(titegroup, bullseye) with short/standard length .40. Unless you are shooting soft minor loads there is a possibility of high pressure for major loads at that length. Another thing I would be very cautious about would be double charging with fast powders.
Good luck and hope to see you out at the range.

Im thinking of buying lead vs plated. lead might be cheaper

In the same boat kind of. GF bought a 40 sw and the recoil is too much for her. I did a search and found an article discussing 40 powderpuff loads.

I'm going to try 155g lead with 3.8g titegroup. The author claims the load has a softer recoil than a 9mm.

I just ordered reduced weight spring assortment from wolff.

Read the full article here- His article addresses competition and making power factor as well.

          I use 2 loads for my 40 S&W

          1. 6.6gr Power Pistol under a 180gr Montana Gold Bullet Hollow Point @ 1.125
          2. 5.3gr Unique under 180gr Missouri Bullet Company TCFP @ 1.130

The first is snappy and the second is a mild recoil target load.
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

handloads.com usually has a few choices using some of the usual suspects from alliant....red, gree, blue dots, unique, etc.

I wanted to tell my results with the loads that I try out
              180grn cast bullet
              3.8grn of Unique
              COAL 1.125
recoil was not bad at all
the empty shells were landing 2 feet away from me it cycle my glock 22 with no problems I like this load.
I also try it with 3.5grn it felt like a 22 but I had one stove pipe
              Thanks all for your input

if you want to shoot minor with that g22 then a changing of recoil springs will be needed to keep the gun cycling. don't think that you have to bump it back up when you go to major either. i shoot 11-13lb with both major and minor. not uncommon for guys to run 8lb in major. but that's something that you're going to have to figure out as tuning for the spring weight is entirely subjective.

for action pistol there really isn't a need for more than minor. i'd still keep the pf up though, needs a balance of power and speed. depends on the targets your club has. if there's a spinner then it needs power, if texas stars and polish plate racks then you need speed.

i run moly bullets through stock and kkm glock barrels. moly is fantastic. precision bullets and bear creek make great bullets. and they're cheap.
