After missing a light double charge on my 550 years ago I moved up to the 650 with powder check.
The 650 powder check allows you to sit in a chair in front of the machine and watch the pin contact the notch in the check ram. By watching the pin and notch contact point you can determine the level of powder in the case. The adjustment for the powder check can be set very tight or semi-loose. By setting it tight, as in a small pistol round, you can watch for slight charge variance. By setting it loose you can not trigger an alarm on large rifle cases when different settling properties would set the alarm off.
