YUGO ammo-non-corrosive

Hello to all,

I noticed Ammo Bros. has YUGO surplus ammo on sale and was wondering if this stuff is non-corrosive???? I need some inexpnsive ammo to shoot in my IO Casar rifle for Friday.

No surplus ammo is considered non corrosive. It may look shiney and clean on the outside but inside....well...get my drift. Clean with hot water and you'll be fine. Then clean with regular solvents.

Maybe it depends on what type/year...? I just sold some Yugo 8mm on here that is corrosive.

ALL Yugo 7.62x39 is corrosive. It's damn good ammo too. Just clean your gun.

Hi guys/gals,

Just trying to get ready for a little shooting this coming friday but at Big 5 I noticed they have green box Fiocchi for $12/box so I might go for some of that. All I need it for is to test fire my new replaced IO Casar for functioning and see if the thing shoots straight.

All Yugo that I've ever seen or shot is corrosive. But, it's still good stuff. Yugo is by far my favorite 7.62x39 ammo. It's much more consistant than any of the modern commercially made imported stuff I've seen. In fact, I'll trade the rest of my Wolf stuff one to one for junky Yugo surplus.

Assuming such could mean folly for his gun. Especially since the most commonly available and cheapest Yugo (AK-47) ammo is the corrosive type, which is sold in large crates up to 1,150 or more rounds per crate and in stripper clips.

He wants Yugo 7.62x39 ammo, which is most likely the Yugo mil-surp such as http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=A76239Yugo this surplus ammo, which has a corrosive berdan primer.

I looked at the Ammo Bros ad. It's the non-magnetic x39 type that's pretty widely available. And yes, it is corrosive, but I like it.

Wonder how they're gonna do 200 rds with boxes of 15?

I recently got 1120 rds of it in strippers for $256 delivered.

Now... I would be interested in the 180gr no steel Yugo x54R that seems to be all dried up... I would drive to Cerritos for that.
