.44 mag and Clays for a target load?

I have a bunch of clays powder laying around from trap shooting and want to make the most of it. Have a Marlin 1894 in .44 mag that I want to use for steel gong targets from 35 to 100 yards. Looking for a nice light load, nothing spectacular, which it seems clays might be good for.

So I have a question about a specific load: The bullet I'm using is Rainier .429 200gr FP plated, which the company says to treat as lead as far as data goes. The only data I can find for clays is for a 200 gr LRNFP CAST in .430 diameter, with an OAL listed as 1.570" with a starting load at 4.2 and up to 6.4gr. Should I follow this OAL and charge data? Probably leaning to the higher end of the charge range?

That should work fine. You won't get much above 1000fps, even out of the max load, the recoil will be light.

For this light a load, in a revolver I think either would work fine, for the lever action, I would probably roll crimp just to be sure.
