45acp 185gr Rainier plated and BE

Anyone use this combo?

Rainier 185 FP plated with bullseye powder?

I usually use 185gr hornady XTP's with 5.5 grains BE.

Someone said to use a lighter load closer to that of lead bullets with plated.

Im thinking of using 5gr BE @ 1.25OAL with CCI LPP....

That load will cycle my 1911's fine, but it is a light load for 185gr bullets. The brass lands nice and close.

Follow up, Cycled my TRP just fine ( mouse farts in the heavy gun)

Kept getting stove pipes in my G21. (brass was filthy too)

it was actually very accurate for a cheap bullet.

Upping charge to 4.2 for further testing.

I think the closer you get to 6gr, the more luck you will have cycling that Glock. I use 6.6 as my max load of BE using 185gr bullets.

I have run a few k of 185 extreme plated FN and found 4.3 of bullseye to be a reliable accurate charge for steel and targets

because it is to light of a charge to fully expand the casing against the chamber walls. some gases expand backward
