Range Trip Review

I was bit nervous about these batch since it was my first time shooting my reloads . I came out with no kaboom =) *knock on wood*

I had 3 different batch and it all cycles properly . one batch had the most accurate group . but still need more testing .

but my question is .. what other points do i need to pay attention to ?

now that i know it cycles ok .. inspecting brass for hot pressure ? do i need to pay attention to how brass is ejecting as well ?

any points will be great !

Keep records, for sure. I have mine going WAYYYY back. I rarely use 'em, but you know, better to have 'em and not need 'em... And they make interesting reading when you look back on them. All the loading data and the results.

Powder : Hogdgon Tite Group
Primer : CCI small pistol
Bullet : Rocky Mountain Plated 230grain round nose

Gun used : Glock 38 GAP
shooting distance : 10yards

*note : I've shot factory gold dot Hallow point .. those round make nice circle on target compare to my reloads .. is it because its a hallow poijnt ?

1st : 3.6 grain 1.08AOL


2nd :3.9grain 1.10AOL


3rd : 4.2 grain 1.085AOL


4rd : GoldDot HP factory round 200grain ( notice hole is very clear compare to others)

I wasnt able to tell the .02 difference grain tho . is that normal ?
I've only shot one magazine ( 8 rounds ) of each batch i made .
I will be making at least 4mags next round and compare .

Is the poor accuracy you or the handloads?

I'd try resting it on some sandbags and milking the trigger.

My Glock shooting factory 9mm will tear a ragged hole at 10 yards...easy. This is when I am standing, using both hands, unsupported.

going back on sat , already loaded 4mags each per batch . i know i can do better this time

its pretty hard to rest the gun on table since its so low . i know those accuracy arent great at all but i could see whats best out of those tho .

Your 3.9 grain load shows potential.

You can try leaning against the shooting lane stall wall and maybe getting a tripod to rest your hands on while holding the pistol since you mentioned that the table is too low. Another is to kneel down and stabilize your pistol that way.

On the last pic the reason you are getting clean cut holes is due to the Gold Dot bullet profile and not the hollow point. A semi-wad or a full wad cutter bullet profile also cuts clean holes on paper.
