You should check out www.wideners.com and www.powdervalleyinc.com
They may have a better deal.

I use the Montana Gold 55 gr FMJ. Gives me 3/8 groups. Good enough for me
You really have to buy a full case before you see real cost savings.

I've used Montana Gold & Goldenwest brass 55gr fmjbt in my 1-9 twist. They work fine, but I later bought the Hornady 55gr FMJBT and they are a little more accurate. When bought in bulk (wideners 6000 pack) they are under 8 cents each.

I believe the Hornadys are your best choice for what you are doing. If you don't need 6000, just buy them, keep what you want, and sell the rest.....you'll have NO problem selling them!

these would be slightly less http://polygunbag.com/.223NewMilSpec55GrLargerView.html

I usually buy the new or pull down M855 since I have a barrel with a 1/7 twist.

Jeff Barlett has some pulldown M855 for $85 per 1000 http://gibrass.com/projectiles.html

Hornady bulk 55gr FMJBT is best choice for a 55gr IMHO. They are available at Midway USA and Wideners. Usually about $85/1000 or less if you buy more.

The 55gr FMJBT from Golden West Bullets would be my next choice if I could not find the Hornady ones in stock.

can't go wrong with Hornady. Also, I would give Armscor a try too. Point of Impact is a local vendor here, and they sell 1000 pcs for $85. The last time I bought $100 from them, shipping was only $5.

Yup, the prices the OP quoted aren't that great at all.

                      +1000. I get ridiculous groups with 55g FMJ's and 24.8g of H-335. Midway had a 1000 for $69 during a Black Friday sale.
