Ammunition Disposal

I have come across some tracer 5.56 ammo and was wondering what I should do with it? I know tracers are not allowed in california so shooting it is not a good idea.... Any suggestions? Most of the others are green tipped(some of which are quite recessed) and a few blanks oh and 2 shotgun shells quite the little hodgepodge.

I wouldn't post it online however if 'your friend' found some then that's a different story. I have a bullet puller so if I was in this position, I'd pull the projectiles and throw them away then add a legal projectile and have fun at the range.

What part of a tracer cartridge is the "illegal" part? What I want to know is what makes the tracer? Powder? type of Bullet?

The bullet is the illegal part. If you ever see one they are long and don't weigh much.

The rear cavity of the bullet is hollow so that a flammable compound can be shoved in it and the gun powder used burns hotter to ignite it, iirc.

take a pair of heavy metal snips and snip the bullet in half. now theres no proof.
