    Primer Price Hike

It was not long ago, like as recent as 1 year, Milwall sold WSP per/1000 for $20.00. Last show they got $25.00. Looking online various retailers are now pricing them at $32.00. Powder Valley still has them at $25.00 though.

    What a drag...

Hell...it wasn't too long ago, it was $60/5k from Miwall.

I was in AZ 2 weeks ago and just have to say I can't wait to stop paying California prices when the move is done.

When I started reloading, Big 5 in Pinole stocked primers and a limited amount of powder.. I remember paying $13/1000 for CCI Small Pistol Magnum primers.. this was about 1988.. I also remember paying $10/k for 2000 Norma Large rifle primers at this little gun store in San Pablo called "Led by Lead"... long out of business now..

Meh, bought 1K of Magtech primers for $17.99 at Graf's. Split hazmat and shipping with some friends since we also bought a whole bunch of other stuff. Get yourself a dealer account

The best price I have seen was 5K = $100.00 at the gun show in Del Mar.

This is why I buy wolf primers, some people say they have had problems, but they work great for me and at 16/K, you cant complain a bit.

Outside of reusing the brass this is the cheapest components to buy. $20 or $50 per 1k, its still the cheapest part.

That must have been a while ago. Last show in Del Mar I paid $24.99 +tax per 1k of WSP.

Don't forget to add $20 for parking & admission. Might be more now. It's been awhile...

Exactly! At the Cow Palace Crossroads show, 8 bucks parking, 9 bucks entry = $17 (OK, you get to see things at the show), but then you can almost cover the $25 hazzmat of buying online. (Don't forget to declare the sales tax!).

Also, since primer prices won't go down (why would they?) you might as well stock up on them, which the hazzmat fee sort of forces you to do.

I found out the secret for free parking. They have Bingo at the fairgrounds, just sign up for bingo (its free) and they give you a parking pass good for a year. Yes, it works for all events, you just have to go in the first entrance. Kind of a PITA to get done but worth it if you go to the show.
