45-70 load question...

I just want to double check with people sho have loaded 45-70 with Unique....i am running a 405gr LRNFP w/o GC and 14gr of unique. anybody else shoot this load or something close to it? its basically a "large" pistol round... this is running in a Gattling.

You can burn 11 to 32( eek grains in a 45-70 with a 405 grain projectile.
Your 14 grain load looks to be on the mild side.
Not the best powder for 45-70 though.

But if it for a gattling why not good ol Black Powder?


These are other options for powders , use at your own risk ;
2400 From 19.5 grains to 32.0 grains
IMR-4227 From 25.0 grains to 35.0 grains
H-4227 From 34.0 grains to 36.0 grains
IMR-4895 From 42.8 grains to 60.0 grains
H-4895 From 40.0 grains to 59.0 grains
