they are called hulls and yes, they can be reloaded... but 12ga is so cheep at walmart that it's hardly worth it

Thats what I figured. I buy 100 rounds for ~$20 +/- a couple bucks.

The cheapy wal-mart hulls are not desirable for reloading. There are a few brands that are designed to be used repeatedly, like Winchester AA and Remington STS. If you find those, then people would definitely buy them from you for up to $0.10 each or so.

I load 12ga because I buy my #9 shot by 75lb quantities

I load 10 and 12 gauge since I prefer my steel shot loads over factory.. For 12 gauge lead, well... I have to have a reason to use the shotmaker I bought

I get the #7/8 mix at half price when available and all the used hulls I want for free, just bring a bag.

the best way to get your non-toxic shells for less than 1 arm and 1 leg is to reload. You can get into shotshell reloading for under 100 bucks all in.

Just a word... Be careful when loading the "cheap" hulls, ie two piece hull vs one piece like AA or STS. They WILL come apart on you and when they do you will have a cardboard obstruction in your barrel. I've seen this many time even with once fired hulls. Check the barrel every time you fire one.
