    9mm reloading should be easier

I have 3 single stage presses(one is only used for my 50bmg rounds) and are happy with them. BUT I hate to reload 9mmluger or Mak ammo as the brass is so small. Enter my brother. So I called my brother and asked if he still had his Dillon 450(yes very old machine) and he said he sold it. He has been buying ammo untill it has jumped so much in price. He plans to do more shooting so he ordered a new XL650 Dillon with change kits for 9mmluger and 45acp plus all the extras on the press. He is having it shipped to me since he lives on an boat.

So now it should be easier for me to load my 9mmLuger and if I get a change ouver for my 9Mak I will be able to load it on the Dillon.

So now I will have 2 RCBS, 1 Hornady and a Dillon press for reloading. Looking forward to not having to handle the 9mm so much. Time to get more bullets ordered.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Unless you shoot lead, i have yet to see anyone acheive any meaningful savings on 9mm, its just dirt cheap all over the place. Even if your using scrounged range brass the components cost $130-$150 per 1k. You can buy 1k loaded rounds for $165.

650 without a casefeeder is kinda overkill for 9mm, a Square deal B would do much the same and at half the cost

Try wearing the blue nitrile gloves from WalMart.

They really help getting a grip on those slick little buggers but sensitive enough to feel that .380 case that made it through your sorting process...

I never quite get this reason for not reloading. I thought that most of us reload so we can shoot better, more accurate ammo for less. I load 115gr plated for $6.00 a box that is more accurate than factory which usually cost a minimum of $10.00 after tax or shipping if you want brass. I am sure that mass produced reloads are not going to be as accurate, so even if I am only saving $2.00 a box over reloads and getting much better quality ammo, then is'nt it worth the $2.00 saving for better ammo taylored to my gun. I can reload a box in 15 minutes with my Turret press which is not that time consuming.

I can see if you where going to reload only 9mm and did not care about accuracy then buying steel case Tula would be a better way to go because of the cost associated with buying th eequipment, but that is not the typical case.

          Plated 9mm bullets $70
          Primers $15
          Powder $8
$93 seems like a good deal for 1k

But reloading is dangerous. No one should reload!

            +1

markdoddridge says the same thing every time anyone mentions reloading 9mm and it simply isnt true... I can load 1k 9mm for under $90 and it takes me around 4 hrs on my Lee Classic Turret press. Thats almost half the price of reloads that I am hoping will function well in my gun and that I have no control over the QC process. Ill keep loading 9mm until the price of 1k comes down to $100 so I guess that means I will never be buying 9mm again

It is coming with the case feeder and all the other extras.
As I said I am not paying for it.
I have over 400lbs of lead for bullets plus 2000jacketed ones I got years ago when the price was low. I have lots of brass and get more once fired each time I go to the range. I still have 20+ lbs of powder from the 1970's that is good.
This will make using up my supplies easier for me, because I hated loading 9mm so I did not shoot it much. The 45acp will also be easier to load with it and I have lots of supplies for the 45ACP also.

                The price was right----FREE.

+1 to that. I load in 124G, so I save a little bit. If you just want plinking ammo, 115g cheap stuff you wont save much at all.

I started loading 40, then 38, then 357, then 45, then 9mm. When you have a 650 available, not loading any caliber you shoot, is just silly. It's not all about saving some $$.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
