    Stripper clips?

Just got some of that 5.56 green tip on stripper clips. Never used clips before and wondering best way to use them?

Saw a guy at the range load an SKS (I think) from a clip and it looked fairly easy.
But after some(very little) fiddling to see if I could get the rounds to "just slide right in" to a mag, it became apparent that I wasn't doing something right. I did fold down the small tab on end of clip.
So not wanting to mess up a mag
, or get blood too involved. I"ll just ask the guys that know.

What is the prescribed way to load from clip to magazine? Or any tricks? Thanks!

The mags are Pmag 10/20 and AR Stoner 10s.

To use the military version of stripes for an AR. You will also need a spoon. Spoons are around 4-5.00. Spoon goes on magazine and strippers slid into spoon then mag.

      See link http://www.instructables.com/id/How-...g-Stripper-Cl/

      Hope this makes sense.

The Striplula is great. I put all my ammo on strippers (about 800 rounds) for my last AR class and used one. Saved huge amounts of time. Just kept about 15-20 loaded strippers and 30 loose rounds in my side pouch at any given time and the Striplula in my pocket. While everyone else was jamming mags, I was ready to rock in 30 seconds. It also works great with loose rounds.

Yep that makes lots of sense.

I was thinking there was something missing in the/my process, The spoon!

And I didn't have to bleed to find out! Another Win for CalGuns!

I buy wolf ammo it comes on a plastic holder with 10 on each side. If you are careful you can get the military strippers to slid on without dropping one. I am sure the lula is great as well (I have one for my pistols) but was introduced to the military ones from a bud who was in the Nam.

                      fabguy, Appreciate the offer.

I will probably pick up the Striplula or two and a couple spoons when I run across them.

Never paid much attention ammo on strippers, but I will now.

Thanks for all the good CalGuns info guys.

Also, when pushing the rounds into the mag, keep your thumb as close to the base of the cartridges as possible. If you try to push at the middle the rounds will tilt & bind up.

The best part about the striplula is that you dont have to use stripper clips. Just load the striplula with single rounds until you get to 10 and slam home.
