Problems with lee progressive 1000 press

    Greetings fellow calgunners,

I just bought this press, and have spent some time trying to get the priming step to work as it should.

Problem: once the case goes from the depriming/sizing station and to the priming (downstroke) station, it seems i have to move the ram up and down slightly a couple of times in order for the shell plate to snap into place and line up the primer with the flash hole above it. This does not occur when i cycle through the stations with no cases in place. When I cycle through the stations with no cases in place, everything seems to line up perfectly. Also, even with cases in place, they line up very well with the dies above. When there is a case going from station one to two, for some reason, the flash hole of the case does not right away line up with the primer below it. This has resulted in several primers placed in sideways and even upside down (They flip over sometimes as i am trying to get the case and primer ram to line up).

Has anyone ever had any problems similar to this, or have any ideas as to what a remedy might be? TIA.

I don't have a progressive, but I have a heck of a time seating CCI primers on alot of 40cal brass ( crimped primers ) on my LEE turret press. I have a much easier time seating Remington or federal primers in 40cal brass.

Resolved. Got it running smooth as butter right now, played a bit more with the zero adjustment.
