Clownpuncher and other future LnL owners:
Watch the Hornady instructional videos. They are much more informative than the instruction sheet. You may have to register (free) to download them or you can also find them on YouTube.
Pay particular attention to using the One Shot Dry Gun Lube (or some other degreaser) to clean off the packing grease from the parts, especially the powder measure assembly. Otherwise the powder will stick to the film of anti rust packing grease and mess up your powder drops.
Secondly, be sure to inject grease into the zerk fittings. If you don't already have a grease gun, they are cheap ($10 at Harbor Freight or Walmart with the grease included). Spray lubes won't work in those spots and the grease will last a long time.
Third, go out and buy a primer flipper tray. It's annoying that Hornady doesn't include this with the press. It's mandatory and would add only a couple of dollars to the cost of the press. Same thing about the grease gun and a can of One Shot Dry Lube.
And be patient on the 500 free bullets. It took about 3 months for me to get my 500 30 cal bullets, but I did finally get them.
It's a great press and if you run into any road blocks, come back here, there are lots of LnL AP owners who are willing to help.Comment

I have an LnL AP, and it works great!!! I have the case activated lower assembly(PN#050074) for each caliber, this makes it easier to change calibers without having to adjust the powder measure height,
as well as a bunch of the die quick change adapters. Buy some spare shell plate springs also, they're fragile and get squashed easily if you get crankin'.
IMHO, the primer sled/installer button are the weak links in this press, both must be kept clean, and adjusted(fiddled with) to keep it running well.
A great value.Comment

I had some minor trouble with the primer sled but it is smooth as butter now. I tool a dremel and polished all of the contact points and I have zero issues now.
I also polished the ramps where the spring dips and rises on the base plate to minimize any potential snagging of the spring.
Finally, I polished the path on the base plate where the shellplate ball bearings would ride. Not a big difference there, but since I had the dremel out...

I lightly chamfered the leading edge of the bottom of the primer slide. This allows room for that one rogue grain of powder that gets between the slide and its fully nested location. Which in turn does not let the slide nest fully forward, which messes up primer seating.Comment

Great idea! I may do that this evening, although it hasn't been a huge problem in the past.I lightly chamfered the leading edge of the bottom of the primer slide. OP: You won't go wrong with the LNL AP.IPSO FACTOComment

Just Got it!! ordered the Press and .38 shellplate from Cabelas, the 7.62x54r and .223 shellplates from midway, and the .30-30 shellplate from amazon.
Just in time too, im leaving for a business trip on the east cost tomorrow and wont be back for a week. Now i just gotta find time to go to Big Broncos house and figure out how to use the damn thingComment

Oh god, i just realized none of my die sets have powder through expander dies... Will the Hornady quick change powder die fill the role for all my calibers? or do i need to buy seperate powder through expander dies for each caliber? I cant seem to find any dies for rifle calibers, presumably because you dont expand them first, but in that case how to i charge rifle cases?Comment
