Help me out with plastic media

    Howdy all,

I saw a post a long time ago regarding a plastic media that is used along with corn cob or walnut. The plastic media was bits of sharp plastic that really clean out the primer pocket. I have a source for FC .308 brass and I already know of the short case life because of the primer pocket opening up about the fourth firing. I don't want to use a powered primer pocket cleaner to clean the primer pocket because I will take some brass out and shorten the case life. I think it was sold on ebay. I did a search here and on ebay but it must be listed or titled as something else.

    Thanks!!

I read the same thing you did and went out and bought it. Didn't work for my vibratory tumblers at all. It took about the same amount of time to get the cases cleaned and primer pockets were a little cleaner but not by much. I used Midway brass polish instead of 'NuFinish' like the article said and the brass weren't as shiny as with corn media.

One thing I noticed is the media moves a lot slower inside the bowl. I think the rotary drum type tumbler may work better with the plastic media.

Stainless steel media works really well for cleaning the pockets too. It only works in a wet rotary tumbler, tho.
