Range ammo (non-steel jacket) what do I look for?

I'm trying to buy 1,000 rounds of ammo for an upcoming plinkfest with some friends at Burro Canyon but I want to make sure I buy the right stuff. Can anyone offer guidance?

If they have a no steel policy then check the projectile with a magnet. If a magnet sticks to the projectile, no good.
With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.

Check for good deals on surplus ammo. Most brass cased military surplus without Bi-metal jackets can be found online. What caliber are you shooting?

The cheaper the better is usually a good start, Im not sure when "wet" season at Burro canyon starts but if they will let you shoot steel core ammo i say buy all the steel core stuff you can get your hands on. It shoots great and its dirt cheap. It will probably be a little dirtier than your used to but its no big deal, just clean your gun after the range.

If they still wont let you shoot Steel then i suggest factory reloads
