    Isolead ingots

Since finding wheel weights for casting is getting harder, I have switched over to isolead. This am, I made up some ingots from 4 cores (31 lbs each).

Guess I need to research how to get the pictures to appear automatically...

Looks pretty good. Did you get them from Muddy Creek Sam?

I got mine from a local hospital. They were amused that I was willing to pay them for them. Guess they were paying someone else to remove them. So, win-win for us.
And since they make up into ingots with practically no waste, they are much better than wheel-weights anyway. I find they cast well, and seem to have the same composition as wheel-weights. I shoot them as is, and have no leading problems at all. They are the same cores that Muddy Creek Sam sells, but he is back east.

Thank you for the clarification. I tried Google first, but searching for "Isolead", I got lots of links for ISO Lead Auditor training for ISO9001!

"Isotope Lead" makes much more sense to me. I didn't know what "Isolead" was abbreviating.....

              Thanks.

Who at the hospital did you talk to, if you don't mind saying? I'd love to check at some of the hospitals I work near.

Talk to someone in Nuclear Medicine. They are the ones that use the contents of the cores, and most likely have to dispose of the cores when they get too many to store. At any rate, they can tell you what they do with them when they are done with them.

Wait 2.1 months before you handle them or you will glow in the dark.
