Curse you spp on .45acp casing.

So I was reloading some rounds last night, got my rhythm down on seating the primer on the Lee pro 1000 press, then after awhile, one case wouldn't seat the primer. Took the case out, thought it was my mistake and put the case back in the case feeder. After a few more rounds, same problem, primer would not go in. Took the case out and flipped it over, Yep, damn Federal casing. Threw that one away and everything was smooth until another case wouldn't feed. This time its a CCI brazer. This small primer thing is making life a little more difficult on the reloading bench for me. Why did they start making them with with SPP again?

They started it for Non-Toxic ammo, I believe the only non-toxic primers were small..

I always sort thru my 45 brass after it comes out of the tumbler, it is a pain tho.

i really hate SPP 45 brass. what's even worse is using them and then coming across a regular LPP sized one.

But seriously.... they are a pain in the @$$ when you stumble into one while reloading. sorting 9mm, 40, and 45 is already a big hassle.

I like 'em. It's all I shoot. After I tumble my range brass, I put on the reading glasses and sort them out. I usually end up with 20 or 30 large primer shells out of 300 or so shells I picked up. I save them up for the next range trip and trade them to a guy who doesn't like small primer, with him usually giving me 2 or 3 SPP for each LPP.

I hadn't been to the range in a while, so last night he had a 1/2 full gallon size ziploc full of SPP cases. I'm good for a while.

Plus, since I shoot a lot of 9MM, I can use the same primers.

                            Meh....

I shoot at a range close to 2 WalMarts. I get plenty of SPP Federal in with my own brass.

I sort by headstamp anyway. I'll take ALL that evil SPP brass!

Just think... if we have another Great Primer Drought that SPP brass will be GTG with SRP.
