always wanted to , but always girled out due to no space / time / hassle of searching doing home work .. but all that end today !!

I figured im spending money on ammo mine as well put some of that into reloading/hobby

so ! first i need to make some room and planing on doing it watching my budget .
going to order lee's anniversary kit from midway along with dies . and depth gauge ( harbor freight ) . buy decent stable table from craigslist lol

and get this cracking ! im only gona start with one pistol caliber 1st tho .

im sure there's lot2learn read n so on .

but any of you guys reload in ur room ?? or am i crazy

You need ventilation and no offense but you need to read a TON before jumping into it. If you reload anywhere close to how you write, you're going to blow yourself up.

You should be alright in your room, theres plenty of other people who do it. In some ways it would be beneficial and alot more comfortable.

While I do kinda have to agree on the writing style, I must also say, "welcome to the hobby!" Yes, you certainly can reload in your room, and I know of several who do just that.

PolishMike is very correct in that a lot of reading needs to take place before actually getting into reloading. The two books that I used are Lyman's Reloading Handbook, 49th Edition; and Richard Lee's "Modern Reloading". The book "The ABC's of Reloading" has also gotten high marks. It's very important to know the theory behind reloading and what's really going on before making that first round.

My Lee kit came with the book. Read it ,double check everything. And you should be fine . Its pretty easy. There is some great how to videos on youtube. Check out ammoman.

Reloading is like applying for a job. Sure you get the job, there are basics and hard fast rules. Technology/equipment changes and techniques change with the times. You might think you can start out in a room, but you will learn quickly you will need more room and space. The more you have in bulk, i.e. cases, primers, tumbling media etc, the more you want to reload and the more you save. Have a back up plan for storing equipment!!

Your kind of sensitive but you make a good point you can reload anywhere as long as youve got the room.

As far as the OP goes my suggestion to you and this is what I did when i got into reloading not so long ago.

1. Read your lee reloading manual
2. Buy the Lyman 49th reloading manual and read it. It teaches you more about how to reload. It has lots of picture, diagrams and things very well organized. I use my lee mostly for reloading recipes.
3. Read them both again

Then you should be ready to get started reloading. I started with just one caliber and I now reload for 40 45 and 38/357.

im all about the quality and im sure quantity will follow in time .

I wouldn't do it in your room if it's carpeted. Powder does tend to get spilled and primers get dropped. I wouldn't want to be the person vacumming that carpet!

Reloading requires attention to detail, like knowing that the correct spelling in your statement would be You're, don't and for, that is unless you like kabooms or squibs or getting pinged on your spelling on an internet forum.

OP - go slow. Read a lot of different reloading manuals, the stickies on this forum and ask questions even if you think you know the answer (but aren't 100% certain). Better to wait to do something the right way than to have to disassemble a bunch of rounds because you didn't get something right. Don't ask me how I know.

I handload in my living room, but I have to break all my staff down when I'm done because my kids will destroy anything, well not anything they will not get near or touch my guns, i show them how to use them and only to use them if I'm down for the fight, good thing we live in a 2 story house and all they have to worry about it's to cover the stairs
