Hello all, so I have been reloading for about 20 years. I started off with a RCBS single stag press kit and then joined the Dillon family last year with a RL550B progressive press. I also have a 1975 RC and a 1976 JR I love to use.
I enjoy reloading the following.
Single stage reloads
.38 / .357
.45ACP
.44MAG
.45LC
30-06
Progressive
9mm
10mm
.40S&W
I recently bought some .44 MAG Lee dies and after installing some extra locking rings, I was very impressed with the dies. I know they tend to have a good reputation. I also use Lee shell holders since the are much cheaper than RCBS.
Anyways, I got kind of curious about the Lee Turret presses. After reading a lot of reviews I still couldn't get a good gauge for the performance of the press. The most common complaint is that the turret plate moves when running a case through the dies. I could see how this could be a problem with consistency. Someone wrote a review where they addressed this problem by adding washers and a nut from the local hardware store. This eliminated the movement. Made sense to me. Since I truly enjoy our "craft" I decided to give the LEE turret 4 hole press a try. I just ordered it from "Factory Sales Master Distributor." Lee Precision seconds were sold out so I went with a new one. Cost me $73 plus shipping. Not a big investment to satisfy my curiosity. I'll post pictures and give a review once I get it and have a chance to load at least 100 rounds.
Feel free to chime in with your comments.....even you Big Blue haters are welcome...
