Nice. I'd buy one if it wasn't more than $15 or $20.sigpic

I use a $10 lamp from IKEA, its a goose neck that generates very little heat. The head of it fits perfectly in between the dies in the hole at the top of the the lnl press.
Works awesome, and has a switch. The light is directed downward right into the case.
I can post some pics tonight if you all want to see it.Comment

I use the same lamp as Vicious. The link is for the black one, but mine is silver. They also make one with a clamp-on base if that is preferable.
I like the idea of an LED strip. It provides a good deal of light on station #3/4 where you really want to see the powder in the case. Last night, I was loading some low recoil rounds (2.5g Red Dot under a 158g LSWC) for .38 special and that small amount in such a tall skinny case made the viewing a challenge.
If you can bend the LED strip to make a ring around the LnL, it would be even better. There are quite a few LED strip makers but I don't know if anyone makes anything other than a flexible linear strip.
Here's a pic of the lamp compared to the HF flashlight

This is what the lamp looks like:

I paid $7 for a single LED on a gooseneck with clamping base. I can easily see the powder level (or lack there of in this photo).

The light is great as I can move it around and use it where needed and it has a USB plug with a 210 adapter.
The wall mounted light was weak but the shadow was just below the minimum powder line so if I didn't see powder, no good. I am looking for more LED's for my safe, reloading desk, office desk and closets though. The seller of the one light has tripled the price for new ones.Last edited by IntoForever; 10-19-2011, 12:15 PM.With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.

I actually like this idea a lot because the light source is right where it needs to be, and isn't bulky or in the way. A desk lamp gets knocked over... This solution is discrete and something geeky I would try to build myself. I like!Be safe, have fun.

I just stumbled on THIS project the other day. It would be a decent way to make your setup a bit cheaper by eliminating the 12v power supply.
I could build one for probably $3 in components, a $5 extension cord, and a couple cents of silicone caulk. (provide your own mounting tape/velcro/zip tie). I expect the bulk of your cost would come from the 12v power supply and the flexible LED strip. Eliminate the power supply and build your own strip = massive savings.
Cheers!Comment

What is needed is a light shining right down into the case. This would appear to be very close to this ideal. Your pictures also show what I mean when I tell people that with the Hornady L-N-L AP, you have work NOT to see the powder charge as the case is right under your nose.
I would like to get the IKIA goosenecks, but it would be preferable to me to NOT have more lamps on my reloading bench, but rather have the lights mounted on each press.
Even with a light, I need to get a mirror or such to be able to see into the cases on my 1050s.Comment
