    Winchester vs UMC

I have not used UMC before and limited experience with WWB

can anyone give a review or compare the quality between the 2 brands?

Both are cheaper ammo's. but between the two who is better??

or are they basically the same quality

    lets say 45acp 230gr FMJ or 115gr 9mm

I buy UMC 45 caliber at Walmart for 96 dollars for 250 rounds. I also buy Winchester white box, both shoot well through my 1911 combat commander. I use the mentioned ammo for practice.
When I get home I load my magazines with Winchester SXT. Or Federal tactical hst.

In my G19 I had better luck with WWB. The UMC brass used to kick back right in my forehead and the WWB did not.

On QC issues, I had a squib with WWB and bullets pushed back in the case on some UMC bulk packs.

I use both without much difference to me. I would say buy whatever is cheaper.

Not sure in 45, but in 9mm, I have found 4 UMC rounds out of 500 with the bullets setback (not enough tension) out of the box. These did not setback going up a feedramp. They were like that in the box when I opened it. I am careful now when using UMC to push on the rounds to make sure the bullets are seated with enough tension to hold them in place when feeding.

I shot both brands through my SA 1911 loaded, both shot fine. They go bang when you pull the trigger, even during rapid fire in a class I took. So try out which one you like better, and buy the one that is the cheapest if you're just plinking.

Umc cost a few cents more per round. Wwb ammo tends to look prettier. Umc is kinda dirty lookin. I had a box of umc 45's with the bullet set back almost half way into case. All the wwb and umc i've shot went bang everytime. Just get wwb if its available. Its cheaper and better imo.

              10mm. Because .45ACP just doesn't cut it anymore. <Trailerparktrash>
