    Best bullet puller for handguns

Does anyone have one that they would recommend? Would be used mostly for 40 S&W.

    Thanks

The RCBS Kinetic Bullet Puller. It has a lifetime warranty and if you break it, they'll replace it. I've used it for 45, 38, 40, 223, 308 and it works great with all of them. The 3 piece shell holder works, but you can use your press shell holder so long as you point the opening toward the handle. Then the shell won't slide out as you swing.

It works best on a wooden block on a concrete floor. Bare concrete works also, but you need to be a little more careful. Several medium whacks are better than 1 big one.

I like the RCBS bullet puller that goes in my Rockchucker. Much faster than the Kinetic type. I can load 500 rounds an hour on my Dillon & Pull 8 bullets a minute w/ the Rockchucker!

You need a caliber specific Collet for each caliber. I have a Collet for every caliber I load.

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

I use RCBS kinetic also for my handgun loads and RCBS collet type for my .223. Both are excellent.

For .40 cal rounds a kinetic puller of most major brands work great. They are however slow if you have a bunch of rounds to disassemble. A reloading frame mounted puller is less time consuming for multiple rounds.

Another note regarding bullet pullers while I'm thinking about it, kinetics work best for heavy bullets because it is the weight of the bullet itself that makes this type of tool work. Light weight bullets like .223 rounds are difficult if not impossible to pull with a kinetic puller.

I find that to be wrong with the rcbs kinetic puller. I have pulled a few .223 with heavy mil style crimp and without. It did take a few more hits than when using with .45 230gr. Also I have a piece of 2" steel rod about 4" tall that I use as an anvil when pulling as it works a lot quicker and doesnt seem to damage the unit.

                    Wrong happens!

At this point I've had other Shooting Buddies pull as many of their own mistakes as I've had on my own.
