    380 Reloading Die Question

I am trying to save some money on a set of dies for reloading 380 ACP. Can I use the expanding, seating and taper crimp dies from a 9mm luger set and only have to buy a 380 sizing die? From what I have read this seems like it would work. Has anyone actually tried this?

    Thanks for you help!!!

No. 380 is a tad smaller in diameter.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

I know you are trying to save money but a set of Lee 380 dies are about the same price as a box of decent 380 ammo. I'd just get the correct dies, you will make the cost up in no time and wont have to worry about screwing up something.

The .380 has a case diameter of .373-.374", while the 9x19 has a case diameter at the case mouth or.380" that tapers to .394" at the base.
A 9x19 expander would probably expand the case too far down before it would flare/bell the case mouth. You might be able to use the bullet seating die, if it would go down far enough, but it wouldn't be able to crimp the case.

If you want to crimp separate from seating, you will also want to get:
