My Brass Rotation Process- What's Yours?

I keep the brass I plan to reload on shelves above my bench. I have a bigger stash put away that I re-supply bench containers. The older brass is in the bottom containers and works it's way up the stack. That way I ensure the oldest re-cycled brass is always what gets reloaded next.

How do you rotate your stash?

I don't, as of now.

That's cool though.

I will say, tho, that as soon as I get homefrom the range, I tumble the brass I fired. That way, all my brass is ready for thr press.

I also don't rotate. I shoot it all until it splits.

I don't rotate, but I do shoot up the crappy dented dinged mixed brass first. I save the nice stuff new or once fired for special occasions.

Like said from someone earlier, I dont rotate and I just use them untill they split. My exception is .40 S&W brass and .44 Mag brass. I run .40 cal brass no more than 5 times then I let them fly. My .44 Mag brass gets down graded form full power loads after about 8 times. Then they get loaded to a light .44 Mag target round until they split...

Also, that's nowhere near enough .223 and 9MM... I think you need a few more jars of those.

Nice setup. I store mine in 1 gallon zip-loc bags, in the cabinet under the bench.

I keep once fired practice, twice fired practice, match brass, etc. labeled and separated. Fire the different batches until they start to get thin and then toss 'em.

I like to load up thousands at a time though, and pull from them as I need them. I'd rather be shooting, than loading.

All but my big rifle cases get put into plastic bags, and when they have signs of damage i will put them in a box to recycle them.

Most of my brass is kept in Ziploc bags seperated by caliber with a piece of paper indicating how many times they have been reloaded and what needs to be done to them to be ready to load. I also have some plastic nut jugs that contain brass that is fully prepped and ready to load with the note indicating how many times the brass has been reloaded.

1) It doesn't matter, except for benchrest rifle shooting.
2) Put the cases in a dog food tower dispenser: see the Le Bistro Feeder, for example.

I have so much .223 both loaded and empty that I dont worry about it. I know the newer stuff is on the bottom of the ammo cans the older stuff is on top - like the grocery store....

.45 I kinda keep track. I have two ammo cans when I run through one I switch to the other and start filling the old one back up with emptys. So I have an idia of how old most of it is.
