You couldn't load roundballs as fast as you could cast them.

If you want a decent home system, look at the magma engineering one.

Pretty cool to watch. I don't think I could justify the cost. Okay, I know I couldn't justify the cost.

People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

Looks like he's doing that in the living room of a mobile home...pretty cool, hope he's got good ventilation!

Thanks for the link, pretty cool stuff.

After watching the vid, I was banging around and found the Magma Caster CSACANNONEER mentioned and I got really excited. That gadget and a lube/sizer would pay for themselves in about a year. Christmas is just around the corner...

I've been running an old Star (now Magma Engineering) lubesizer for about ten years. I've even had Magma custom make sizing dies for me at no extra charge. Now I can size and lube my .25 acp as fast as I can do my .45 acp. I can't speak for how well they do GCed bullets because, I've never tried. But, for regular hard cast, I don't see myself pulling out my old Lyman 45 any time soon.

I have been watching everyone around me start casting, plus following Bumpo and Cowboy here on these forums. I just could not get into the standalone furnace and hand held molds thing.

The Magma unit seems to tidy things up a bunch, their lubesizer with the air compressor and heater attachments seem to complete the picture. The guys I buy my 200 LSWC's from are terrific, but for half price I am really starting to think this might be the way to go.

At $10k and if you got your lead for free it would take 165,000 bullets to pay for the machine. If I shot for a living maybe. Sure is cool though.

I still use a 20lb RCBS bottom spout pot with H&G 8-10 Cav molds and can cast faster than a Magma. But, the Magma just looks so cool and easy to use. Also, I can use the bottom spout to cast with all my wierd molds. With the Magma set up, you're stuck with thier molds or modified RCBS molds. I hate being limited.

My Star lubesizer is mounted on a midway universal heater and I size them by hand. I can lube size about 1000-1200 per hour.

Thats a nice machine. On the other hand its probably worth more than his mobile home. Did you see the big tears in the linoleum floor, yikes. Priorities, priorties.
