Any hobby you get into WILL cost you money, I shoot 2x as much because I reload alot. I took my wife shooting and she fell in love with my XD-9 so I had to spend money and get the XD-40. Lol, hobbies are meant to relax you, if they don't, then they are a chore. When I am burnt out from work or are too stressed my wife says to me "why not go reload for a while and calm down". She helps from time to time, kids help also. Sometimes we get a production line going and it makes processing alot of fun for all of us. Example from last month: my son (8yrs) spray lubes cases, my daughter (17yrs) sizes/deprimes cases, myself trim cases, my wife checks length(hahaaha I know what people are gonna say). It makes for some time to share your hobby. I also take the daughter shooting when the wife can't go so she says its the least she can do considering the cost of ammo.
I haven't been reloading very long, only about 1-1/2 to 2 yrs and it is alot of fun. Is there a money savings? Yeah kinda. Is it a hobby? Yeah for sure. Does your wife or Girlfriend have a hobby? Find out how much money they SAVE in their hobby, and how much time their hobby consumes and you will have your answer.
    I hope this helps

This was before I added the "calguns" stickers and before I mounted my progressive ( i think)

My latest cabinet, check out the antique wooden boxes that my Father-in-law gave me. It isn't much but I am happy with it. The "crown Royal" bags are for my casings that are ready to load. I get them from my Mother-in-law, she is a bartender...hehehehe

i did a bit of examining my bullets cost about 10 cents each about 12 cents for powder(i should buy 8 pounders to save a bit more)and 2 cents for the primer so thats 24 cents a round

i do not count the electricity to tumble clean them for a couple hours or case lube so those are variables

so basically i am busting my azz for about the same it costs for a box of wolf but just lately i am getting stuck cases i scrub and scrub the chamber but its like after 4 boxes i need a rod to poke out a case

In 2008 when people were standing in line at 6 AM at Walmart trying to buy ammunition, I was shooting as much as I wanted.

Shooting speed steel and IDPA, I couldn't imagine NOT reloading.

What I find is that half the people I go casually shoot with, don't reload due to not being into shooting sports, so I gets all da brass!

                    Reloading should be enjoyable.

Two other reasons to handload: variety and accuracy

You have a much greater choice of bullet weight and velocity when you handload.

I have never owned a gun I could not get better accuracy with using handloads as opposed to factory ammunition.

Loading rifle involves more steps but less danger. The most common serious mistake you can make handloading is double charging. With rifle that is usually impossible because 2x the powder will overflow the cases with most rifle loads.

I save quite a bit of money reloading, The last time I looked I was paying about $22 a box of 40 cal, and I reload for about the equivalent of $6 a box, and I dont do any massive buys to save money in the long run. Of course I do end up shooting more and therefore spend even more time in front of my bench..... I love my dillon 550 b tho.
