Who needs a Reloading Bench top? PICS, post 4

    Free!
Here's the deal. I work in a Commercial Building in downtown Oakland.

We have these doors that have been removed & saved for God knows what. Well the Boss says, "Get rid of them". So who wants one?
The doors are laminated over pressed wood & heavy! 35.5" x 92.5 x 1.75" thick. We can cut them w/ a skill saw if you need something smaller.

Yeah, a solid board might be a little stronger, but the price is right! I would just mount a 2x board on top & bottom & use longer bolts thru the Press.
I'll post a couple pics later. The holes are there for the old hardware.

No I won't ship you one!

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

These are way too heavy! Between 100-125 lbs. They wouldn't last outdoors, either. Strictly made for interior usage.

We use a door dolly to move them. We can load a whole one up for somebody in a P/U or cut to size. We have 4 doors to dispose of.

That will make a really great loading bench!!! - I prefer about 24" deep but to each his own. A 1 3/4 thick 30"x60" particle board bench top from graingers would cost near $100 --

Have you tried cutting one of those in half yet? I worked in a commercial building in Stockton about 10 years ago and had to dispose of probably 30 doors similar to those. Used a Skil saw to cut them in half and dumped them in the dumpster. Those doors were filled with a fire retardant similar to plasterboard. Man, what a mess.

Not sure about fire retardant but I'm pretty sure they are filled with rocks or lead or something else very dense as they are HEAVY!

Thanks again Bruce, I'm looking forward to putting mine into service and I'll post pics on your reloading bench thread when I do.

I cut one to 24" x 60" for another Calgunner yesterday @ work. Just seemed like finer sawdust to me. I could pickup the cut piece by myself!

Still have 2 full doors & a 36" x about 30" piece for anyone who wants it.

Gadjeep, I DO expect pics one of these days!
