Glock 17..Ammo?

Hi Guys,

Im so excited. Just bought my first today. It's on a 10-day hold.
It's a Glock 17.
My question is what is the best bang-for-the-buck ammo for this? I understand that buying in bulk of 1000 on internet, will give me the best value.
What brand should i consider?
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thx.

Congrats on the new gun. It doesn't really matter what you buy, your Glock will function with anything. So just buy the cheapest jacketed ammo you can find and have a blast.

Glock's will shoot just about anything, just don't run straight lead bullets in a stock barrel. If you're just plinking get the cheapest ammo you can get. Browse the marketplace for good deals on 9mm which is quite plentiful. If you need a quick fix Walmart has good prices on Federal 9mm.

For HD/SD ammo I tend to stick to Federal HST which runs around $20 for a box of 50. Whatever you end up picking up be sure to run some rounds through to make sure it feeds/cycles properly.

Just saw Remington UMC 115Gr Brass Cased..$220 for 1000 rounds. And Aguila 124gr brass cased..$188 for 1000 rounds. The aguilas has two reviews..great reviews..one of them was ran thru a glock17 also. I might just go with the Aguilas.
Can you elaborate on the gr? Thx.

gr. is just the weight of the bullet (without casing, primer and powder). for plinking, it usually doesn't matter.
