They both have great CS. From everything I've read I'd put Dillon slightly above but not enough to warrant buying a machine from them instead.

Dillon's CS is legendary. But Hornady will also make it right. You may have to send items in for them to see before they send you a new one and you may initially have to pay for shipping, but they will do what they can to make you happy. Dillon just goes above and beyond to almost a ridiculous level.

But then again, you're going to pay more for the Dillon.

Can you arrange to load on both machines? This is what should be the deciding factor. I've loaded on both and prefer Dillon. If you can't I'd watch a bunch of youtube videos on them.

From what I've heard, Dillon is the king. I've never dealt with them, but in my personal experience, RCBS is pretty on top of things. Bought a 505 scale at a gun show with no pan, for cheap, and they sent me one free of charge, postage paid.

Every time I've ever called they were more than happy to send me what I needed at no charge and it came quick. A couple times is was worn out parts from normal use. But one time my buddy did something stupid and broke something. I told Dillon exactly what happened and they sent a new part right away.

I know a few people that had machines from years ago that were practically worn out. They sent them to Dillon and Dillon sent them back a brand new machine.

If you can find an old beat up press for cheap, Dillon will make it new again for a $50 refurb fee.

Yesterday I called to order a manual handle and holder for my LnL progressive powder measure so I could more easily do small batches without setting up progressive press. 1st question I was asked was if I had broken it. They would have sent it free if I wasn't honest. (It doesn't come with the progressives, they come with linkage instead.) I had the confirmation email

I've had two other issues that were related, I was having some trouble with a shell plate that somehow got warped dragging, sent free. The dragging shell plate had worn the button the ejects the case and it wouldn't smoothly eject smaller cases, sent free. I've never had to buy in advance and wait on a return, nor return a bad part. So far they've been excellent.

This matches most the things I hear also. But my neighbor (who runs two LNL's) needed a new powder drum (the big metal round thing that turns in the powder measure) and they made him send it in before they'd send him a new one. It's probably a piece that they've never had a complaint about or something. Everything else he's needed they've just sent him.

From a customer service point of view, I don't think you will be disappointed with either.

Yep, definitely not enough to choose one over the other.

I have dies from almost everyone and Hornady has really surprised me. They have impressed me some much i dumped all my Dillion and RCBS presses. To switch to Hornady presses, the LNL system is great will never go back

I have never tested Hornadys CS (although I will about my Pro-Jector) but I have dealt with Dillons and it is outstanding. I think you will be happy with either one. I bought my 550 because 1. the resale value is great and 2. I still had a sour taste in my mouth from the pro-jector.

I've found a place in Fremont for the Dillion and they offer training, which I will need, but have not found a Hornady dealer that provides training yet. The place in Fremont will allow me to use the 650 they have setup to see if I like it.

Both CS are great. Whichever machine works best for you you should get.
