So, I came across this web site: http://www.rmrbullets.com/

Good prices on their bullets, 9mm specifically. I was looking at the Speer TMJ's they have for sale, the price is great and they have all been "pulled".

I am just wondering, why would you pull ammunition in these quantities that was already put together? Were the bullets loaded in recalled ammunition?

I'm just wondering, I am leery of the "too good to be true" adage and can't figure out why they would pull them and sell as components.

If they are from US mil surplus, they have to be pulled. It is illegal to sell US military ammo. However, you can pull it apart and either sell the components or rebuild it and sell it.

Good question. All I know is Talon got nailed for not pulling down and "remanufacturing" ammo.

After looking at the types of bullets that were pulled, I'm goiung to guess that these were commercial rejects and not mil surplus. But, I didn't see any 9mm pulled bullets, just 95 grain bullets for .380acp.

I don't really do it to "save" money.... I save a bit but not much compared to rifle reloading. I can save maybe $2-3 a box over what I can get them on sale for. More if I find good deals. I do it for the fun mostly, and I save big dough reloading my 7x57

I think I saw some 115gr TMJ's. I'm shooting 115 plated now but you have to keep them below 1200fps. If I could get some FMJ's that would be a fun change. Until I found this place, precision delta was the cheapest for FMJ, I just wasn't sure about the pulled bullet aspect.... couldn't figure out why they would be pulled, especially if you know what brand the bullet is.

My experiance with pulled bullets has not been good , the amount of damage to the bullets is not consistant . If its blasting ammo i guess its ok but i dont do much blasting . I have a box of 30 carbine bullets that were pulled and there just crap.

It might be because their unsafe for some reason, bad loads caught in quality control. I've bought some 175 SMK bullets off that site in the past. The Matchkings are truly grade A, I couldn't find scrape marks on most of the bullets and the ones I did had light marks by the boat tail. Fast shipping, the bullets came in the mail a few days after I bought them. The thing I like most about that site is the shipping is included.

some manufacturers (Black Hills specifically), samples their production based on preasure not velocity. They'll scrap the whole lot if it's not to spec. I've also read there's some ATK over-runs in 40's. Perhaps it's more profitable to sell components seperately.

Some of the their stuff is reasonably price, others like the 168gr Sierra Matchkings cost more pulled than I can get for new
