Bought 1000 Tula SPP and have had nothing but trouble, feeding the primers in the press, seating depth and at least one FTFire per mag. Get what you pay for, so back to the CCI primers.

Run away! from Tula SPP

What round, what gun? Seems most complaints with Wolf/Tula come from hammerless guns and frequently with lightened triggers and springs."Everything I ever learned about leadership, I learned from a Chief Petty Officer." - John McCain

If you are having issues with seating depth, that could be the cause of your FTFs. Primers need to be seated all the way in the pocket, just below flush, so the anvil is in good firm contact with the cup.Comment

Been using Wolf SPP for about 12k? rounds in 9 and 40 with only 1 FTF. They do take a little more force to seat though.http://www.treas.gov/education/histo...-present.shtml

Im hesitent on blaming the primer. Im on My second 1000 box of "Tula SP primers" on mixed brass and so far they all go bang. I used so far over 11 thousand Wolf LP primers which are suppose to be the same as Tula and had only one dud and one without an anvil....FYI. I do all my priming with a Lee hand primer then I run them through the loader....Im not saying that your nuts. Maybe you got a bad lot of primers which might be the case.Cowboy Action Shooter

After you seat the primer, set the case on a very flat smooth surface and if the case rocks at all then your primer is not seated completely.Comment

I've had Wolf SPP (same as Tula just older branding) get stuck in primer pick-up tubes and get mangled while seating. The corresponding Wolf SRP, LRP, and LPP haven't had such issues, though that may be because I haven't gone through the same volume of these. I will say that CCI or Winchester primers certainly seem to glide right in with a consistent seating pressure.
I haven't had one Wolf SPP not fire at all, but some did require a couple of hits from my P226 (second-hand so don't know what was done to it). Maybe the anvil takes more effort to seat properly, though I've destroyed a couple of those Lee Safety Prime handles seating LRP so I'm sure I'm not limp-wristing it. Maybe I was fooled by the primer catching on the wall of the primer cup where as I wrote other primers just feel better.

We have loaded and shot over 6k rounds in 2 - 9mm Beretta's and 1 S&W 357 model 66 with only 5-6 FTF and each FTF was in the S&W which has a very light trigger and spring. Each time they were put back into the Smith, they go bang. After the FTF, the primer dent is pretty light but they always fire second time around.
IMO, they are harder primers so the lighter trigger/spring might give you less than perfect results.
For my money, the are GTG
