    RCBS 223 Small base Dies

I have had this die set since the early 80's and it has loaded quite a few shells for my Mini 14. Lately I have been back to shooting regularly I have been having a whole lot of stuck cases requiring me to extract the cases by drilling and tappingand pulling. I have used several types of lube to no avail. I'm going to dissassemble everything and check for damage to the ball expander, but darn the about 2 out of 10 caese are getting stuck. Has anyone had this problem??? I had to go out and get a Lee set to finish reloading a group.

Perhaps the inside of the die has oxidized (rust) a bit try polishing it on the inside.

I had similar issues with my RCBS small base dies with several types of spray lube. I switched over to Imperial Sizing wax and have had no stuck cases since, I have probably sized 2K. I had 5-6 stuck cases in my first 100 before I switched.

I just had the same problem with a old RCBS die it worked fine for many years then stuck cases like crazy even with Imperial wax. Sent it back to RCBS they polished it like new and sized a case and returned it free of charge in about two weeks. Works great now. If you got time let the factory handle it.
