Few weeks ago I went to a garage sale and Bought a tumbler there. The guy had a can of some 223, 308, 22 and misc. Ammo. He said I could have em, so I took it. when I got home and looked through them, it appeared that there were some tracer rounds, not sure what caliber maybe 30 cal and few 50 bmg rounds. Are these legal to have in CA? My understanding is no, and if thats the case, how can I properly dispose of them? What should I do?

Pull the bullet out, pour the powder out and remove the primer and place the bullet back in. Now you have a pretty cool decoration and paper weight.Comment

Bring them to your local PD. Say you found a bag of ammo up in your attic when you went up there for the first time ever.
They will dispose of it for you.Comment

Maybe call them before you show up with a bag full of stuff. Tell them the truth about getting it at a yard sale for free and didn't know what was in the bag.Comment

In case you still haven't done anything.
Each one of those little pointy bits with the flamey stuff inside is a felony. Not kidding.
Take them someplace deep and see if they float or arrange for the Sheriffs to somehow take possession.
