Can you vibrate clean complete cartridges?

I have some completed .308Win cartridges that I feel are a bit dirtier than I'd like to put through my action. Any reason why I can't throw them in the standard Harbor Freight vibrator?

    Thanks all!

If they have imr cannelure type powder bad idea. If ball powder iffy. The powder breaks down and possibly changes burn rate to a faster powder increasing chamber pressures. I have been doing it for years and just found this out.

I tumble all my completed rounds, sometimes for a few hours.

Yep, nothing wrong with tumbling finished rounds.

I don't use a tumbler to much of chance of the tip hitting the primer on other bullets and going bang, if your using a soft primer. Not good….

I have a vibrator and I do all of my completed rounds for 5-8 minuets, it removes all of the left over lube and brings back the shine to the rounds.

Personally I wouldn’t go over 10 minutes thou, to much of chance of developing high pressure as the powder breaks down..

They have Varget and Reloader 15. The have SMK 150g/168g and 178g bullets with Winchester primers. Cases are mixed.

CORRECTION: I meant vibrator, not tumbler (good catch) - just like the one you're showing. Got mine at Harbor Freight for$60 wih tax.

i tumble 5k of 9mm at a time and will use "on occasion" my cement mixer to polish the ammo. i have gotten some really dirty. grimy ammo so hot that it hurt to hold in your hand...(wasnt trying to that but after 6 hrs....) and never had a round go off...

polishing live ammo is fine. when your considering the breakdown of powder...idk enough to say but it would have very little (prob. not even able to notice) a difference.

Well, that would pretty much seal it up.

                            Thanks all for the inputs.

All ammo in aircraft, m113's, jeeps, and duece and halfs is thrown away after being subject to vibration for over 20 minutes ---
Oh yes, and all the 20mm/40mm and 5" ammo is chucked after a day in the magazine.

Please shown some valid information where cleaning in a tumbler or vibrator is harmful to ammunition.
