    500 S&W H110 primer ???

Hey guys, I am gonna be loading 440 hard cast gc bullets for the 500 s&w. My question is which type of primer to use. My cases are marked with R which means rifle primer. But Ive heard the H110 needs magnum primers. Any suggestions??

I did load them with 16.6 grains of Titegroup shot great with the LR primers CCI.,

With H-110 always use mag primers. In my 500S&W/454casull/44mag/357mag and M1Carbine I use mag primers and use H-110.

I've never read it (published) specifically but implied constantly, I also always use mag primers with H-110. I also suggest maybe warning the folks just to the left and right of you before firing H110 loaded 440 grain cartridges.

Well just got back from theme range. Ended up using large rifle primers CCI(not magnums) shoot great.
I loaded 36gr & 38gr max of the H110 every shot went off great and no problems. Very accurate round.
38gr is a bit much next time I will stick with 36gr.

Not trying to offend but why post the question when you do not use the advise given? Glad you were happy with the outcome anyway.

Simple. To learn what others are using and why. To help make an informed decision, not to blindly follow what others do. To help know what to look for after making a decision.

So, the conclusions of this thread, when combined with others on calguns, and also including general google searching are:

"folks have a tendency to use mag primers when using H110 as insurance against ignition problems. This does not imply std primers are unsafe, nor does it imply people don't use std primers. But many folks feel more confident using mag primers."

              What I DIDN'T read was:

"use std primers and damage your property, or injure yourself. And if you don't do exactly what other people say, you open yourself up to ridicule and calguns hate."

              I missed that memo.

Hey. If you read my post, it was a polite question. There was no put down or hate intended. Just a flipping question(since I will not cus on the forum) so no need to respond with the remarks in the last of your post.

You might also consider that the manufacture etc say to use mag primers for a reason. If someone chooses not to then that is up to them. However if they do so and have trouble or damage a firearm(or themselves or others) just accept the responsiblity and do not blame the powder etc. Can we agree on that point?? If you answer please try not to post a smart-***, flip answer. This is a great forum and no need to degrade it into a flame site. ----Take care----Doug
