    Die cleaning?

First, I am using Lee dies... 9mm, .38 and .223. What is the best/easiest was to clean them?

Do I take them all apart and put in some kind of solvent, or use the wife's ultrasonic jewelry cleaner?

Seriously though... Can I just spray some WD40 in there and scrub with a brush? What is the best way you all have discovered for cleaning the dies?

I use rubbing alcohol and a brush, wd40 would probably work too assuming you make sure it's all cleaned out when you are done.

cotton patch wrapped on to a chop stick or Qtips work well with Hooppes, Shooters Choice, or your choice of solvent . . . .

It should just be case lube and a little accumulated dust you are cleaning (you clean your brass before resizing, correct?). I use whatever spray solvent I have on hand (brake cleaner, carburetor cleaner, Tetra Action Blaster, etc). Yes, I disassemble my dies for cleaning. I'll also coat them with a corrosion preventive as well, Tetra Gun Spray works well for this.

I clean them after every use. Just break them down and wipe cleanly.

I suppose I should tear them down and give them a good cleaning. 5K+ of 9mm without a real cleaning, and 1.5K of 223 with about the same attention as the 9mm dies.

I have been just spraying some (Remoil or whatever gun cleaner is handy) and spray it with air compressor. Hmmm...

            Sounds easy enough to do.

I use brake cleaner with a 20ga mop then let them dry and lube with hornady one shot. I do this after every few uses.

I just take 'em apart and hit 'em with some WD-40 and an old toothbrush. Dry off well, and you're good to go.
