Haven't purchased much store ammo but I pay like what 38 bucks for my tulla.45 ammo usually per 50 or 23 bucks per 20 red dots.

walmart has bulk product sales with federal and winchester......wouldn't you want in walmart if they could sell so much....

Big 5 has no contract with any of their ammo suppliers.......

The ammo sold at WalMart is also different than the ammo sold at Big5. I read a thread on here about it. The serial number on the box had WM at the end and it was cheaper ammo.

I wouldn't doubt that the stuff shipped to Wal-mart is different from what is shipped to Big5 and other dedicated sporting goods stores. This is true of a lot of Wal-mart merchandise.

One thing I have found is that there seems to be a difference in what is shipped to what state as well when it comes to ammo.

Texas: Hit up Wal-mart for WWB (old and new packaging) and Federal Champion .45 ACP ammo. The brass is polished nicely, very clean, jacketing perfectly smooth.

California: Get the same from Wal-mart but the brass is always dirty, has dings on it, and jacketing is full of dings. Seriously ugly looking ammo (though functions just fine).

Even with new shipments in CA Wal-marts every box of ammo I've seen was just ugly. It all looks like factory seconds to me. When I buy the same in TX they are shiny and pristine looking. I really wonder if this isn't another form of punishment of CA for its nutty gun laws.

Disclaimer: I'm a Texan, just visiting CA off and on for work and friends.
