Reloading Friday night, Any Noobs want to learn something?

OK, I just finished prepping brass for the last 5 days. Hands are sore. Is there a new guy in Contra County who wants to help me out & learn something about Reloading?
    I have .308 & 30-06 to prime, fill w/ powder & seat the bullet.
    Anyone interested? PM me.

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

I'm sure you can do it. Just don't screw up measuring out your powder, lol.

Read in the latest Hornady reload book. Unless you are shooting precision, can case trrimming. Matter of fact, they suggested you did not need to clean primer pockets.

Generally once fired brass is all too long and needs be trimmed the first time.. I've found this out on most once fired rifle brass.. Once you trim it, you will likely be good for several firings. How did the Dillon trimmer work for ya B?

It is not that hard to reload. You can do it.
Here is a tip, if these are not new brass, run them through a case gauge, or chamber each case to make sure they fit your rifle.

Yes, I can do the reloading myself all the rest of you CLOWNS ^.

I am merely trying to give an opportunity to let someone who wants to learn how to reload, get a little hands on experience. This ain't my first Rodeo. Yeah the hard work is done.

Worked pretty good, V. Still have the 3 gal of 223 to work on, but that wasn't the priority.

I had some 308 that was trimmed once, then fired & neck-sized 4 times. Then I had a bunch of once fired as well & some new.

The 30-06, I had a combo of new, once fired & twice fired.

When I do the 223, I think I will resize first on the 650 & then run it through the trimmer on my Rockchucker. Gotta get rid of those old primers one way or the other. Gonna try it the other.

                  The 308

                  The 30-06

This thread is awesome. Bruce you did not introduce yourself as a veteran loader offering to teach instead it sounded more like you wanted a newb to hold your hand.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ reminds me of the thread where the guy loaded up 1000 5.56, but they wouldn't chamber in his AR because he didn't set up his sizing die to bump the shoulder back enough to chamber.

                        I'll edit my OP!

I edited it. But I think it was clear. People just post after reading title, instead of reading the whole post!

FTR I started loading in 1998. Approaching 60,000 pistol rounds & 3,000 rifle rounds.

If I were you I'd extend the deprime punch a bit and let the dillon die do the final size since you will need the friction of the resize die to grip the case while it is trimming.. I think I tried to size them trim and ran into this.. you could also deprime when you reload since they will already be sized and it could be a normal operation just like when reloading pistol.

Interested but the next week is crazy. I can bring some measuring spoons for powder and something to seat the bullets :

That's a good point, I believe you are correct about the trimmer gripping the case. Guess I'll keep on, keeping on!

I did get one case stuck in the trimmer. What a pain in the butt to disassemble & then remove the case!
