    Reloading help

Just got my hornady LNL reloader kit set up.

When i full size my .308 casings there is a clear a visible line on the brass and even presents a very slight ridge, (the ridge is when the line is) my question is, is this normal?

The ridge/line is right before the end of the casing, it obvious thats how far the case is going into the die, but it just doesnt seem normal to me.

Anyone can help me out here??

    Thanks!

Standard rifle resizing dies don't size all the way to the base, you have to get a "small base" resizing die for that (recommended for auto loaders). I am assuming you have your die set up properly (contacting the shellplate).

Yup. It doesn't size all the way down. This is because the case doesn't expand in the head area of the cartridge(its solid brass) and the head doesn't fit into the chamber anyway, it sticks out a bit.

      You're fine....probably.
Take a picture and post it. If its a significant ridge then something may be wrong.
Or measure the diameter above and below the ridge, and report back
