    Looking for 8x56r recipe

I just got a bunch of brass and some bullets for my Steyr and wanted to get some advice. My Lyman book does not have any 8x56r so I did a search here and found nothing.

I have 300-400 208 grain cast bullets lubed with gas checks already installed, I also have a .329 sizer die. I put a couple through it and they go pretty easy, 1 out of 5 had a little bit of the lube rubbed off and the lead was glossy in a small spot, I know I will have to relube them after they go through the sizer. I have some Unique and IMR 4350. None of the large calibers (308, 30/06) in my book show 4350 for cast bullets but do show unique

What would be a good minimum starting point and what powder would be best? I can go get other powder if it would be better for cast.

I also have a couple hundred 208 grain FMJ bullets, what would be a good starting load for these?

This is just for target shooting and 250 yards is about the farthest I can set targets where I shoot.

Boy, tough one. I don't cast so I don't look for recipes for that. And as you know, info on 8x56R is scarce. You might try ammoguide.com. You have to pay a bit for membership but it is a pretty good resource with all kinds of ballistic data and info on scarce cartridges. They have some loads listed that might fit what you are looking for.
