    Primer Pocket Uniforming.

Is uniforming primer pocket a one time thing like flash hole deburring and primer pocket swaging? Just do it once for each brass and it's done or is it something that needs to be repeated?

I do it everytime I reload a piece of brass. It doesn't always trim material out of the pocket but it will cut out the carbon build up from the primers and leave a nice clean pocket.

I think doing it too often would make the pocket loose.

I didn't see a difference in accuracy, so I stopped doing it, even once.

You only do it once. Make cleaning the primer pocket easier and seats the primer just below flush. You may not see any difference in accuracy unless you have a match gun and a match reload with the right combo of components.

I use the Lyman brand uniformer but the stop collar has a tendency to loosen to I changed the staked on set screw. I chuck mine in a power drill to speed up the uniforming process.

I do it every time on my long range precision rifles for 308 and 7WSM.

Not sure about that, The tool makes the primer pocket "Uniform" meaning the primer pocket will be the same size every time.

I use the sinclair bits and chuck them into my drill or press without the adapter. They work very well and always cut to the same uniform depth. After the first uniforming they will probably only clean out the primer pocket though..

You only need to do it once, but I do it every time as the uniformer also does a really nice job cleaning out the pocket. I load for an M14 so it is imperative that I don't have high primers. Uniforming them (I use the Sinclair device) makes sure of that.

I use the Sinclair tool also and use it every time. It does not remove brass, basically kind of cleans pocket.

I am load for a 308 bolt gun.
