Who uses a power case trimmer?

I'm considering getting a power case trimmer. Dang they are not inexpensive!
Looked at the Dillon, Lyman, RCBS. The Dillon is neat w/ the built in FL size die, but wow, about $400 for the unit & three die setups. RCBS & Lyman are pretty similar, $277/227 @ Midway.

I would use it for .223, .308, & 30-06. What power trimmer do you guys use & do ya like it or would you prefer another brand? I'm gonna go check the Marketplace, now...

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I've just switched from the Possum hollow to the Giraud. The Possum hollow is excellent for the price. But if your doing any quantity you really should check out the Giraud.

Giraud, K&M with drill attachment, Lyman with drill attachment and a CH4D are all in my reloading arsenal.

Guirad is the only way to go. Had a Dillon power trimmer and sold it once I saw a Giraud.

I went with a Gracey. I already had a motor laying around so his underpowered stock motor wasn't an issue. Also upgraded the cutter and ended up saving some money over the Giraud.

While I want to agree with you. I would have to say that it also depends on the reloader's cash flow, how many different cartridges and the planned volume to trim. With just 1000 rounds of two differrent cartiges a year, I'd opt for a couple of possum hollow trimmers and my drill press. But, if someone is planning on trimming 2000 50BMG cases a year along with 1000s of smaller cartridges, I'd go with a Giraurd all the way.

How hard/long is it to change calibers and adjust on a Giraud? Or is it a 1 caliber investment? I would use it for 223 and 308.

Right now I use the Sinclair Micrometer Trimmer with power adapter.

I have an RCBS Trim Pro:

Not great, but works pretty well, and switching calibers is simple.

I use an RCBS . It's been modified with a Lee case trimmer. You can search for the video on youtube.

Dillon RT1200 is not that expensive, can have one cartridge and trimmer for around $300. I opted for this because I hate having to pick up cases individually for trimming. Really does a number on my hands having to put pressure on each individual case while trimming. For high quality rounds this does require me to debur the inside of the neck. For blasting ammo trimmed cases goes straight into the tumbler and that does the trick for boat tailed bullets.

Man, only if the Dillon did a chamfer and deburr.

                            I use the Dillon RT1200.

It saves a lot of extra steps, but the one that still gets me is the crimped primer pockets.

It would be great to have a Dillon 1050 with a RT1200 on on there. Fully processed brass and loaded ammo in one step!
