    Inexpensive Enos Scale

Hey all, I'm going to be placing an order with Enos tomorrow for a Dillon setup.

I'd like to get your advice on his $75 digital scale. Is it a good scale for the money, or should I spend the $134-139 and get his HP scale or the Dillon digital scale?

I don't mind spending the money if they are worth the extra money. Twice the price, the scale needs to be twice the scale imo.

    THX

Thanks. I figure Enos sells good stuff and if I can save $75 for recreational reloads, why not. I just don't want to skimp if it's a crap scale.

It's a great scale for the price, well worth it.

BUT, remember to not rely on a digital scale as your only scale no matter how good it is. It is always a good idea to have a beam balance on hand to verify things with

Very good point. For my initial order, I kept it around $1100. Then as months go by, I can order some more options, such as a second scale. Thx gentlemen.

I have that same basic scale, works great. The batteries last forever, and the only thing that affects the zero during my loading sessions is temp changes in the garage during the evening. I just re-zero, not re-calibrate, and it's fine as the session goes on.

There's one big prob with it tho...it's about $45 too expensive. The link is the same scale, notice on the Enos site the name is oddly blurred in the picture?!?

The Dillon Eliminator Scale is a great deal for a manual backup. Made by Ohaus, I don't think you can find it cheaper, may your google-fu be strong.

It must be the included RCBS powder pan\funnel on the extra $

His scales prices, definitely do not touch oldwillknottscales prices

Yup, if I consider the funnel a $45 funnel, I can sleep at night. Unfortunately I ordered the whole setup before I read Rumblebee's post on the same scale for half the price. Oh well, it happens.

Oh man, thanks so much for this. I've been on the fence for months about this scale because I didn't want to pay $48 (saveonscales.com) plus shipping.

                  I just placed my order.

No worries, you'll recoup that money in the savings from reloading

Don't buy any balance, digital or beam, that costs less then $70.
The balance must come with AC adapter, if it is also battery powered. Battery power should only be for in-field use and you must be aware that even a partially drained battery can produce drift and reading problems.
I gave up on beam balances back in the late '70s when Ainsworth came out with a digital balance for about $300. Money well spent to be rid of the beam.
Still have the balance and it still works.
I really like both of Lyman's balances and own the XL1000 (?).
